ANTHROPOLOGIE, WHO SAID IT IS BORING?
What I Learnt Today… DO NOT Assume things!
There are two words, anthropologie and anthropology, with a completely different definition. True they are not same word, but they sound the same word!! (this is why the following assumptions..)
Two weeks ago, in Boston, I was with some friends and we didnt know what to do. Eventually they decided to go to a place called “Anthropologie”. I was doing something else when they were talking about it, so I just heard the words “go to” and “Anthropology“… the only thing it came to my mind was..-Do you really want to go to a museum now, at 6pm? -Is it open? :O Ok..good..whatever..I am not gonna be the one saying -“not interested in culture”, actually I am, and thats why I didn’t ask them for more information or a better explanation of where we were going. Still, I though it was kind of weird timing for that…
We were walking and, I was trying to find a big museum building…ha!! Such a fool!! (You get this feeling quite a lot when you are in a different country).
Getting closer to the place, I read (in a regular/usual/common -definitely not a museum- building): ANTROPOLOGIE. Yes, my bad, I didnt pay attention to the “spelling mistake”, I just could think: -Is it a store?, -Are we going to the store of the Anthropology Museum?, -What the hell they sell inside?, -do they sell human pieces?, -what kind of joke is this?, -are you all crazy?-. The most disconcerting thing was everyone being so excited about it!!. -What kind of friends do I have?, -So, do you really enjoy buying …”human parts”??-. :O NO WAY!
Again, SUCH A FOOL!!
So, we were almost there.. right in front of the store. I was kind of scared and preparing myself and “my stomach” while approaching the entrance… Got in..and..what is this?
WWAAAAAAAAAAOOOOO!!! I just loved it!!EVERY SINGLE THING!!
We spent inside like an hour, and I have to tell you..I didnt have enough!!
Now I understand…
Today I have been checking their website (I love it), and when remembering this story, I have realized what was my mistake…
